I first became fascinated with creating formulas for sleep in the months before we launched iKOU.

I was so inspired and consumed with creative ideas, that I found I couldn’t sleep.

I would often hit the pillow and go to sleep fast, but wake again a few hours later, my mind buzzing with ideas. None of the regular aromatherapy tips worked for me. Lavender seemed to be the most common oil recommended, but while it made me feel relaxed, and often helped me fall asleep initially it just wasn’t strong enough on its own to help switch off my busy mind and send me back to sleep.

This is when I developed our Sleepyhead Rollette!

It’s still made with the same formula today, and it still attracts rave reviews, including from people that thought it wouldn’t work, because (to quote them) the “have tried everything!”

Lavender

The essential oil extracted from the familiar purple blooms of this beautiful flower harmonises the nervous system. Cold-pressed from the peel of the fruit, orange oil is known as the “no worries oil”. It has been researched to stop mind chatter (the “monkey mind”) and overthinking, reduce self-doubt and fear of the unknown. It has a calming yet cheerful effect on the emotions and inspires happiness.

Marjoram

Marjoram is known to be a deeply sedative oil that assists with not only falling asleep, but also staying asleep. It encourages a deep sleep state for the depth of sleep that leaves you feeling restored and refreshed.
